Three Months Old!

Man, does time fly. Jackson is three months old today.


Monday, Jackson got to meet his 2nd cousins Buzz and Kate. I checked a chart to determine thier relationship. If I understand the chart correctly, They are second cousins because they share a common Great Grandmother/father (Saunders). Anyway, we had such a nice time Monday evening that we only took one picture.

Looks like we'll see them again tonight. I'll try and get a better picture of the three second cousins. That is not to say that they will be cousins for only three seconds, but that they are second cousins and there are three of them. Confused? Me too. Moving on.

Well there ya have it. Three months down, 213 to go.

Full Frontal Hilarity!

In the tub, Jackson has more fun than should be allowed. So I decided it had to be shared. He'll probably get mad at me when he's like 12 and finds out his junk was on the internet for all to see.


This week was a big one for the Birdsong household. Betsy returned to work this week. She didn't go willingly. Jackson spent Monday and today with Grandma B. and Tuesday and Wednesday with Grandma M. Tomorrow Aunt Jackie with be watching him. We are hoping that in the near future we'll be able to get Betsy a full time mommy position, but for at least the next month, it's back to work. Boooo!

Finally captured another smile with the camera.

That's a good one. We should start to see more of these. He's smiling all the time.

Short and Funky!

Here's another video much like the previous one. The music in the background is some old school rap. The song title is "Short and Funky" so I thouhgt it to be an appropriate soundtrack for Jackson. He's short and funky.

No News is Good News. Right?

I thought the previous gap in posts was bad. Nothing exceptionally noteworthy has been going on with Jackson. He continues to get cuter by the day. He's still working on his sitting and standing skills. As evidenced in this picture.

He's still sleeping in a makeshift crib at the foot of our bed. Max. sleep duration is around 4.5 hours. Usually 3 hour stints is the norm at night.
The pacifier and bottle of breast milk are becoming more and more welcome. That's a victory. Betsy has to go back to work next week and that would have been exceedingly difficult if Jackson were still refusing the bottle. We all wish Betsy could never go back to work and stay home with Jackson every day. We'll figure something out. In the meantime we're just gonna chill. Like this.

The Water's Fine...

On Monday (Memorial Day) we had a nice day hangin' out at Grandma and Grandpa B's. Jackson had his fist experience in the pool.

Here he is after momma put his trunks on.

Hooray! for swimming.

And here he is in the pool.

He looked like he was having fun. But we didn't keep him in too long for fear that he would get too cold or over exposed to too much sun.

The rest of the week has been just your plain old baby stuff. Smiling, crying, sleeping, dirtying diapers, practicing standing and sitting, kicking like a wild man in the tub, and as always, lots and lots of spitting up.
