A Christmas Miracle

Jackson has been sleeping in the bed with us since day one. I know, I know. You can't do that. You just gotta let him cry it out in his own bed and he'll get over it. Well, we're wimps. We couldn't do it. We tried once or twice and he cried till he threw up. So we relented and just let him keep on sleeping with us. We got a king size bed and it wasn't so bad.

Now, with almost no provocation, Jackson is sleeping in his own bed.



It's been five nights. So I think it's safe to talk about it. Monday afternoon I rearranged the bedroom a little and put clean sheets on his toddler bed. That afternoon, Jackson asked me if fire fighters slept in their own beds. I emphatically said; "yes they do". That night, Betsy asked him if he was going to sleep in his own bed. He said yes and he did. And now every night since then, he has slept in his bed. It has required no argument and no tears. That king size bed sure is big with just the two of us in it. Next step, no more diapers (fingers crossed).
